Artist Statement

My practice is rooted in my multicultural heritage. Navigating between cultures, languages, and traditions has profoundly shaped my identity and continues to inform my artistic vision.

I work primarily in figurative and representational forms, employing graphite, charcoal, watercolour, oils, mixed media, and video. Fascinated by the complexity of human experience, I explore themes of identity, memory, motherhood, and resilience. Grounded in feminist and confessional frameworks, my work reconstructs personal narratives that resonate with universal human concerns.

Drawing on a life shaped by cultural hybridity, transformation, and personal loss, I create works that merge autobiography with archetype. Each piece seeks to capture inner narratives while offering viewers a space for recognition and dialogue.

Ultimately, my art is both a process of self-discovery and a testament to the layered, often challenging, yet profoundly connective nature of the human condition.

Writing enters as both influence and parallel practice, extending the intimacy of confession and deepening the layers of narrative.
